The new general manager for Ayrshire Bus Owners (Al Service) Ltd is Richard Waters, formerly with Lancaster City Transport. He replaces David Garnett who has returned to OK Motor Services at Bishop Auckland.

The new general manager of the Southern Vectis Omnibus Co, on the Isle of Wight is Geoffrey Webb. He was previously general manager of National Travel (South West) Ltd.

Dennis Rodgers has taken over as area general manager (designate) for the northern area of Greater Manchester Transport. Mr Rodgers started his career in transport in 1949 as a traffic clerk with North Western Road Company at Stockport, and latterly headed Charterplan, the coaching wing of GMT.

In connection with its inquiry into transportation in London, the House of Commons transport committee has appointed Anthony Bull, former vice-chairman of the London Transport Executive, and Anthony May, Professor of Transport Engineering, Institute for Transport Studies at the University of Leeds, as specialist advisors.

Autoliners UK Ltd has strengthened its management team with the recruitment of Tony Bradshaw as freight manager. He was formerly with Sequana Maritime for seven years.

Harry Jones, distribution manager of Glasurit Beck Ltd of Horsham, has been elected chairman of the south-eastern counties division of the Freight Transport Association. New vice-chairmen are John Emery, traffic manager, AEI Cables Ltd, Gravesend; Geoffrey Rose, Milk Marketing Board, Dorking; and Ernie Farncombe, managing director, Livestock Sales Ltd, Lamberhurst.

The Freight Transport Association's Yorkshire (south and west) division has elected a new chairman and vice-chairman. The new chairman is H. Ingham, Graham Gratrix Ltd Huddersfield. The vice-chairme are D. Allen, John Waddingto Ltd, Leeds; F. Johnson, Joshu Tetley Ltd, Leeds; J. Bell, BritiE Steel, Sheffield.

New chairman in the nortl east division for 1981/82 is Marshall, Bass North Ltd, Soul Shields and vice-chairmen are' Anderson, BOC Ltd, Chester I. Street; R. Bell Northern CIL Federation Breweries Ltd, Gat shead; and E. Hanson, Pator and Baldwins Ltd, Darlington.

Jim Staley, company secr tary to the National Freight Cor pany Ltd, was invested at Buc ingham Palace with the MBE la month. He was awarded ti MBE in the New Years Honou list.

Peter Pearce, managing dire tor of Sutherland's Haulag Peterhead, has retired from II company after 19 years.
