Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A TYPICAL senior distrbution. manager is 42.6 years old, and earns a basic salary of £9,250 a year, according to a recently published survey.

Trans Promotions' survey of salaries paid to distribution management in 1980 looked at 1,873 jobs' in the industry, and hit a median (better than an average, because it is not distorted by a few highly paid individuals' pay) of £9,250 (before perks) for a senior manager.

Senior managers and directors earn a median of £14,050, and transport manager receive a median of £7,000..

Salary increases last year ranged from zero to over 30 per cent, with 30.8 per cent of the managers receiving 15 to 20 per cent more. Surprisingly, the second largest group (26.9 per cent) got no increase at all, but none of the others got less than five per cent.
