Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BOTH of the major trade associations are working on plans to make their 1981 conferences as cost-effective as possible.

The Freight Transport Association has dropped plans for a full-scale seaside event in favour of a one-day conference on cost and efficiency, which will be held at London's Wembley Conference Centre on September 17.

While the 1979 ETA conference at Eastbourne attracted around 275 delegates, initial soundings suggested that a oneday event in London would be more successful. An FTA spokesman said this week that it is hoped to resume the twoyearly cycle of three-day conferences next year.

The Road Haulage Association is clinging to its plans for a fullscale conference at Bournemouth, from October 18 to 21, and is laying plans for speakers from politics and nationalised industry.

To keep the cost to members as low as possible, however, the RHA is discussing sponsorship of displays and events at the conference with a large number of vehicle and component suppliers.
