H. B. Greenborough took up his appointment on September 1, as chief executive of Shell-Mex and BP Ltd on the retirement, after 41 years' service in the oil industry, of T. R. Grieve, who has been vice-chairman and managing director of the company since 1965. J. A. Riddell-Webster, director—retail, becomes managing director—marketing of Shell-Mex and BP. J. W. E. Bradley, formerly manager, Shell retail division, is promoted to director—retail. and is succeeded by W. F. Henderson who has been the group's operations manager in the north-western region since 1969.

P. D. Scott, 46 has been appointed group chief transport engineer, Watney Mann Ltd, and will be based at the Mortlake brewery. Mr Scott started his career as a student apprentice with Dennis Bros, Guildford, later working as a draughtsman on chassis and engine design and detail. He subsequently joined that company's sales staff until he moved in 1957 to the London Fire Brigade workshop as works manager. On the formation of the Greater London Council, he became the senior protessional engineering officer of the London Fire Brigade.

David Connolly, eastern area manager for Reliant Motor Co Ltd. is to take over the post in the south-west area made vacant by the promotion of Alen Ruck to the position of field sales manager_ Alexander Goodall, who has just joined Reliant, replaces Mr Connolly as eastern area manager.

Jack Reid has joined John Willment (Trucks) Ltd, of Rugby Road, Twickenham, as general manager. Mr Reid previously was with Moor and Baxter of Edinburgh and the Automobile Palace (trucks dept). Ron Weston is truck sales manager. Chris Oxborrow, 39, Freight Bonallack Ltd container marketing manager, has been appointed general sales manager, Norwich division, with responsibility for the full range of the division's products.

Ron Bowen, previously group financial controller, has been appointed a director of Purle Brothers Holdings Ltd; Roger Byrne becomes group sales manager.

Leslie M. W. Reid, one of the longest-serving employees of A C. Penman Ltd, Dumfries, retired last Friday. At a ceremony when presentations were made to him by John Oswald, managing director, Mr Reid recalled that the firm first made lorry swop bodies for a local contractor 50 years ago. Thomas Taylor, Scottish organizer of the National Union of Vehicle Builders, .presented Mr Reid with the union's 45-year long-service medal, Harold G. Carpenter has succeeded Frank Bohannon as domestic sales manager, Vauxhall Motors Ltd, upon the latter's retirement. Since February 1970 Mr Carpenter has been manager of the vehicle division of General Motors Ltd in London.

Melville Tuck, manager of the Aberdeen terminal of Shell-Mex and BP (Scotland) Ltd, has been promoted road transport manager at the company's Wandsworth (London) depot. Mr Tuck takes up his new duties on September 20.

G. Keith Masters has joined Lucas Kienzle Instruments Ltd as regional sales manger. Previously Mr Masters was in South Africa. where he held an appointment with the Kienzle tachograph importers.

Martian P. J. H. van Doome, 39, has succeeded Wim A. V. van Doome as president of DAF Holland on the latter's retirement. A. H. (Bill)Johnson has moved from divisiona director, UK field sales, to divisional director. parts and service, Lansing Bagnall Ltd.

R. D. 1131ob) Llewellyn has succeeded W. Jones as Eastern region sales manager for Raybestos-Belaco Ltd following the latter's retirement. F. S. Jackson has retired as Norfolk and Suffolk representative and R. D. Bums has succeeded him. M. J. Humphries now covers west, north-west and west central London.
