IIInformality is the watchword at the British Commercial Vehicle Museum these days. The recession has hit the museum's rallies this summer, with fewer
hauliers able to bring fleets along. Increasingly, requirements for entry forms and fees us being scrapped; the Livestock Carriers Gathering on 6 October will be run along these lines.
Don't worry about dirty paintwork or the odd dent, just get your vehicle along to the museum in Leyland, Lancs and enter this non-competitive show. Later in the month, on 20 October, there's a "Maggie's Day" open to any truck wearing the Magirus-Deutz badge. Again, spit and polish are unnecessary.
This is no bad thing: many enthusiasts prefer to see working trucks "au naturer.
