s usual last weekend's truck racing at Brands Hatch provided a colourful blend of the sublime and the ridiculous. As well the "big stuff' the crowd was treated to such delights as the Digger Derby, cycling supermen and even 2CV racing.

The Hawk's highlight, however, was watching the Russian MAZ truck with its 17.2-litre vee-eight duelling with a Cummins-powered Bedford TM — talk about a clash of cultures...
