Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• VW has launched the hatchback Polo van — a year after it was expected at the Birmingham Motor Show. It is powered by a 33kW (45hp) 1,000cc petrol engine with three-way catalyst; no diesel option is available although VAG UK is keen to import one. The 41kW (55hp) 1,300cc petrol engine has been dropped from the range.

Payload and body volume are unchanged from the previous model at 440kg and 1.26m. The van shares other improvements with the car models including a revised bodysheli, servo-assisted brakes, improved suspension and a new interior. The Polo is priced at £6,159 (ex-VAT) and a five-speed box is standard.

The diesel model, sold on the Continent, uses the 1,400cc VW engine fitted to the Seat Terra van. Other hatchbacks, such as the Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Novavan, Peugeot 205 and new Fiat Unovan, are all sold in the UK with diesel power.
