• Hays, the business services group that includes Hays Distribution, has announced a pre-tax profit of £56.8m to year end 30 June, a 1% increase on the previous year.
The profit of its distribution divisions rose 5% and Hays has spent £23m on acquisitions, including the recent purchase of removals firm Abels and Citybond Storage Services.
Chief executive Ronnie Frost admits the recession had an impact, but says Hays' crate hire business Rentacrate and overnight parcels delivery service Data Express have continued to flourish.
