• A London chartered accountant, Mr. C. Newcomb, was nominated as liquidator last week by creditors of Davis Bros. (Haulage) Ltd., which operated from London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Norwich and Airdrie. Creditors were told at a meeting this week that debts comprised £578,202 to a debenture holder, £364,024 due to unsecured creditors and £16.711 to preferential creditors.

The assistant official receiver said there was also a contingent debt of £424,031 in respect of cross-guarantees on behalf of other members of the Davis group. Assets were put at a book value of £917.695 but the actual amount on a forced-sale basis was not known.

Directors when the winding-up order was made on April 1 were Mr. A. H. Davis and Mr. S. Davis.
