THE Institute of Transport, moving towards the completion of a half-century's service to its members, was taking a close look at the likely shape of things to come, said president R. H. Farmer at the annual dinner of the North-West section.
Leading figures were concerned that the Institute should be recognized as a body that could do much to give a transport man professional status. It provided the proper medium for exchange of views of transport matters as far removed from each other as containers and conurbations.
