THESE comments come from CAV Ltd. on a Reader's Idea (CM December 16) concerning settings of the BCK cut-out on the CAV 210 control board:—

Settings are correct when units leave the factory, but it is possible that after a reasonable period of use the contacts may require cleaning and adjustment. If adjustment is necessary to the BCK-41 cut-out, the following procedure should be followed in full, and furthermore it is recommended that it should be undertaken by a skilled auto electrician. CAV has agents in every town, and depots and agents in all countries, and service on CAV products is assured to the operator:— BCK-41 Cut-out: Armature to be pressed down on to core and back against frame. Closed air gap (main contacts touching) .5mm at tip, open air gap (set by armature stop) 1.4/1.5mm. Auxiliary contacts (both sets) to close with 0.2mm. Insulated feeler between main contacts. (Setting of the two auxiliary contacts to be as accurate as possible so that simultaneous engagement occurs.).

Royal Warrant : The Queen has granted to Perkins Engines, Ltd., Peterborough, a Royal Warrant of Appointment as manufacturers of diesel engines.

Service Dock : Castrol engineers have completed the installation of a twin commercial vehicle service dock and twin car service dock for Central Garage (Uppingham) Ltd. in a new pillar-free workshop.
