Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE first buses from Bristol Commercial Vehicles Ltd. to enter non-THC service since about 1950 are being delivered to Coventry Corporation Transport. Bodies of the six vehicles are by Eastern Coach Works Ltd., now also selling to the open market again (COMMER CIAL MOTOR, January 27).

Bristol RESL chassis with 16 ft. 2 in. wheelbase, Gardner 6HLW engines and semi-automatic transmission are being employed by Coventry.

The first three buses are 44-seaters with a double-width front entrance/exit fitted with air-operated jack-knife doors. The others have a front entrance and separate central exit and seat 42 passengers; a transmission interlock is fitted to the exit doors.

Common to all six buses are ECW hoPpertype opening windows, fluorescent saloon lighting, moquette upholstered seats on Dapta tubular seat frames and a special luggage compartment. The luggage compartment is immediately behind the entrance on the first three buses and behind the exit on the dual-entrance models.

All the buses have a route number blind at the front and rear and twin destination blinds at the front. The emergency exit is situated centrally at the rear of the bodies and is glazed above and below the waistrail.

White Warerite panelling bonded to 26 gauge aluminium is employed for the interior roof lining panels and side-quarters and pillar cappings and side lining below the waist are of grey Onyx Formica.

All six buses are equipped for one-man operation to Coventry specification.
