ber 30, a report that the Bus Fuel Grants Bill, allowing operators to recover the extra tax on ,ruel they have been paying since July, received Royal Assent before Christmas and is now law. How does one go about recovering this tax?
AThe correct procedure is to obtain from
the Clerk to the Traffic Commissioners in the appropriate traffic area the necessary application form for completion and return to him.
It must be emphasized, however, that as with the earlier 6d. tax on fuel, the rebate applies to licensed stage carriage services only. Express services, contract, private hire and tours work do not qualify for any rebate of fuel tax.
