ONLY 27 entrants took part in the first of the season's coach rallies, the Midlands International Rally, at Wolverhampton.
Coach of the Year award went to Henley's Bus Services of Gwent which entered a Plaxton Supreme-bodied Leyland Tiger. The runner-up award went to Bassett's Coachways, of Stoke on Trent.
Top driver was Allan Davies of Goode's Coachways.
Making its public debut at the rally was a 29-seater coach marketed by Ensor Motors of Warrington and based on the Mercedes-Benz 813/42 chassis. Coachwork was by Imperial of Liverpool.
