A NEW Liverpool ferryport is to service at a cost of around £500,0 be built for B & I Line's Dublin ferry 00.
The new terminal will be paid for by the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company, after it decided to close down the Waterloo river entrance where B+I is based. Mersey Docks hopes to get financial backing with an EEC grant.
The two companies have discussed the move for the last year and negotiations are still going on, a spokesman for the ferry company told CM. The new site at North East Brocklebank dock is one-and-a-half miles further up the harbour.
B+I hopes to move into the site at the end of the year, once the summer season trade has died down.
