• The St Helens College of Technology, St Helens, Lancs, has been selected by the RT1TB as an area centre for its approved NEBSS certificate course in supervisory studies for the road haulage industry.
The course will be held on a day-release basis each Tuesday from 9 am to 5 pm throughout the College session commencing October 6.
Compiled by the RTITB, the syllabus includes Human Relations, Industrial Relations, Communications, Financial Aspects and Technical Aspects and is structured to meet the needs of operational and maintenance supervisors. Course members will be required to undertake a project relevant to their duties and will be required to attend a short residential period of 48 hours duration in the College Hall of Residence. Successful candidates will be awarded the Certificate of the National Examination Board in Supervisory Studies.
Suitable both for the existing supervisor and for the younger man who is being trained for future developments, the course is open to both the haulage industry and the haulage sections of manufacturing and commercial organizations. Fee is £37 lOs inclusive of midday meals and full board during the residential period.
