Prince Michael presents the award to Dick Harris, Avon Backstop's general manager.
• The Avon Backstop reverse-braking device has won a top safety award.
The Prince Michael trophy for technical achievement was awarded to Avon Backstop for its system which automatically applies the brakes of a reversing vehicle if anything touches a sensor strip at the rear.
Prince Michael presented the prize to Avon Backstop's divisional general manager at a ceremony which was also attended by Transport Minister Peter Bottomley and the acting Lord Mayor of London, Sir Robin Gillett.
