• Under Secretary of State for Transport Peter Bottomley has opened a new Department of Transport weighbridge on the A40 dual carriageway near Ross-on-Wye, Hereford and Worcester. The weighbridge was manufactured and supplied by Central Weighing in Kidderminster.

• North Sea Ferries is operating a new freight service from Middlesbrough to Zeebrugge on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
