Driver charges • Greens Transport of Ashton under Lyne is facing charges before Macclesfield magistrates of overloading and causing and permitting an unlicensed driver to drive an LGV. The case was adjourned until August for trial. The driver involved, Brian Doyle, was fined £400 at an earlier hearing (CM 9-15 April).
No show • The three-vehicle licence held by Treharis-based Frederick Evans, trading as CJP Plant Hire, was revoked when he failed to appear before South Wales LA John Mervyn Pugh.
Strong warning • Torquay-based Eric Stirk has been given a strong warning about vehicle maintenance by the Western Traffic Commissioner Air Vice Marshal Ronald Ashford, following immediate prohibition notices on two of his vehicles. But his licence was increased from four to five vehicles.
