Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Exhibit :—One Chassis; One Cab ; One Van; and One Travellers' Car.

The Austin cab and light-van.chasSis, which we described in our last issue, has undergone one or two slight alterations since our representative made his examination of this chassis some weeks ago. The alterations are, however, of but a trivialnature. They corisist of the fitting of the Eisemann system of high-tension ignition, with a battery and coil as auxiliary, whilst the thermosyphon system of cooling has been discarded in favour of a small, positivelydriven, centrifugal pump. The reason for making the latter alteration has not been because of the existence of any objections to the therrno-syphon system, but simply on account of the improved appearance of the front part of the chassis now that the pump is employed. When the thermo-syphon system was fitted, it was necessary to carry the return-water-pipe from the engine to the top of the radiator in an exposed position, which greatly detracted from the tout ensemble of the chassis. Now that the pump it fitted, this unsightly feature is eliminated.

The simple and practical design of this machine is fully demonstrated by the chassis which is exhibited on the company's stand. In addition to this ,chassis, there are also shown : a two seated, public-service cab; a small delivery van ; and a travellers' brougham, which is fitted up for the accommodation of samples, stationery, and the usual paraphernalia of a commercial traveller. The arrangement of the iv ternal fittings is extremely neat and practical, and a feature which will be greatly appreciated by users of this type of vehicle is the provision which is made for the removing of the whole of the internal fittings, thereby turning the vehicle into a simple brougham,

which can he used for pleasure or for business purposes. All these vehicles are built on the same type of chassis, and are made at the works of the Austin Motor Co., Ltd., at Northfield, Birmingham. Mr. Herbert Austin's wide experience has been applied to their design throughout.
