Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Exhibit:—One Chassis; Two Vans; and One Railway-Inspection Car.

This company is exhibiting one of its -latest, toh.p., two-cylinder, van chassis, the most interesting feature of which is the double-jet carburetter. This device has one float-chamber, which is common to two separate jet chambers, and each of these is surmounted by an atmospherically-operated, auxiliary, air valve. This arrangement is shoWli in the small sketch which we reproduce. The gear-box provides f o r three speeds forward, and one reverse. In the top-speed gear, the drive is taken direct, straight

through t h e gear-box, and, when in the top gear, the main shaft is the only rotating

part within the casing. By a simple arrangement of spring-actuated trip levers with positive stops, the layshaft reducing gear is thrown out of mesh, and the layshaft is thus quite

free, and does not rotate when the vehicle is being driven in top gear. A rather unusual feature in the design of this vehicle is the provision of two separate brackets for the change-speed and brake-operating levers. The change-speed lever is mounted on a bracket, about 15 inches forward of the brake-lever position, and the maker claims for this arrangement that it precludes the Possibility of the driver's making any mistake in the 111anipulation of either of these leve-rs when driving in the dark. Amongst • the other exhibits of this company is a neat little two-imated car, which is provided with a compartment for the reception of travellers' samples; the railway-inspection car Which is shown on this stand has eversible seats, and flanged, steel wheels for use on rails; and the toh.p. van is built to the order of the .proprietors of " The Daily Graphic," " The Graphic," and "The Bystander."
