LATIONAL Carriers' Homeward" home delivery ?rvice is no longer a national .rvice and the operational tsponsibility for Homeward as been passed to the regions. Each region is now responsde for Homeward in its own perating area. A spokesman 0 National Carriers said that tie of the problems has been le price and marketing diffi culties experienced when entering a competitive market which has been traditionally held by the Post Office.
It is believed that during its first year Homeward lost around £500,000 for NCL.
Regions are now evaluating the situation in their own particular areas and meantime the service is not being promoted nationally.
