TRANSPORT and General Workers Union Leeds regional officer David Bolton has hit out at campaigns to introduce Citizens Band radio to Britain as "a toy that haulage companies can ill afford."
Mr Bolton said last week that unless the system could show a profit, the cost of the equipment would have to be passed on to the customer.
He added that Britain appears to lack any physical need for the system as there is in America, where distances are so much greater.
