rLAIMED to be Europe's largest car hire organization, Godfrey Davis, Ltd., held a reception on Monday at its depot at Neasden Lane, London, N.W.10. The company is also a leading Ford dealer.
Mr. C. H. Warrilow, joint managing director, said that 24-hour car-hire and maintenance facilities were offered. Commercial users were able to have their vehicles serviced during any night in the week at a cost no higher than during the day.
He said that already the company had received from visitors from hardcurrency areas advance bookings for hire cars totalling nearly 1,700 "carweeks." At least 150,000 dollars would be attracted to the country by this service, and it was estimated that visitors for whom the company would be providing transport would spend a sum approaching another 1,000,000 dollars. The company presented every overseas visitor with a road atlas.
Referring to internal organization, Mr. Warrilow said that Godfrey Davis, Ltd., was one of the few concerns to operate a life assurance and superannuation scheme which was wholly paid by the company.
The guests were received by Mr. Warrilow, Mr. V. E. Bridgen, joint magaging director, and Mr. P. Wythe, director and secretary.

ARECENT publication of Sir Isaac Pitman and Sons, Ltd., is "Cellulose Spraying," price 8s. 6d. Intended as a guide to the proper application of cellulose and synthetic finishes, it deals at some length with the all-important work of properly preparing the surfaces before using the spray gun. The book is essentially of a practical nature, although there is much useful matter on chemical compositions.
