US AUTOMOTIVE paints maker PPG Industries has appointed Austin O'Malley to the position of director, automotive products, Europe, PPG Coatings and Resins Group.
O'Malley, previously managing director of PPG Industries (UK), Ladywood, Birmingham, will be responsible for the development of the company's European market share.
The group's operations used to be run as separate profit centres but have now been put onto a product and support basis to reduce duplication of effort and to streamline communication.
PPG has recently invested around. $400 million in Europ , and says the UK operation has a major part to play in this expansion.
John Richards will become director of finance and administration based at the Lady wood site.
