Ma D W. M. WILSON has been appointed by British Railways, Western Region. to be assistant road motor engineer. Slough.
MR W. POWERS has been appointed to the board of Shaw and Kilburn. Ltd., and its subsidiary company, Grosvenor Carriage Co., Ltd.
MR. .1. G. METHVEN has been appointed divisional staff and welfare officer, Scottish Division (Freight), by the Road Transport Executive. Ma. GEORGE LACH has taken up a similar position in the South Western Division and Ma. J. C. STEwme-r, B.Sc., in the Western Division (Freight). Ma_ W. RUSSELL, B.Sc.. has become divisional engineer in the Eastern Division (Freight).
Ma. C. B. CLAPHAM, B.Sc., general secretary of the Municipal Passenger Transport Association and employers' secretary to the National Joint Industrial Council for the road passenger transport industry, has been appointed assistant secretary at headquarters, Road Transport Executive. as from February 1. MR, S. S. WHEELER. London Transport's commercial advertising officer, has taken up a similar position with the British Transport Commission.
MR. REX AYLMER has been appointed to take charge of the sales organization, engines division, of Brockhouse Engineering (Southport), Ltd. MR. C. W. ANDREWS is taking up a similar position in the steel fabrications division.
MR. J. SHINGLEION has been sent to America to take charge of the stand of Smiths Motor Accessories; Ltd., at the New York Motor Exhibition, which starts on February 5. In addition, he has been appointed. the company's North American representative and, after the Show. will make a comprehensive tour of the area.
Ma, R. H. BATCHELOR, export manager of Vauxhall Motors, Ltd.. for 15 years, has been appointed a director. He joined the company in 1919 as a chassis tester. In 1927 he joined General Motors Hoidens, of Australia. as production expert, returning to Vauxhall Motors, Ltd., in 1929 as assistant export manager. He became export manager in 1933.
MR, L. C. J. YOUNG has been appointed manager of the Bristol branch of the Henley Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd. He formerly represented the company in Devon and Cornwall. MR. FDGAR WARWICK, who was the Henley representative in the West. West Central and South West districts of London since 1930, has retired, and received a -presentation at. the hands of the chairman, Sir Montague Hughman. His territory. together' with North London, wilt now be covered by Ma, A. ABLEY.
