national Circulation) Regulations 1965 No, 329' come into operation— re-enacting, with amendments, previous regulations. They make no changes of substance except that an applicant for an excise licence for a vehicle brought temporarily into Great Britain no longer has to establish that he has no principal place of business or usual abode in the UK. The fee for obtaining the name and address in respect of any registration mark is raised from Is, to 5s. • The regulations are available from Her Majesty's Stationery Office, price 9d.

US Agreement for Carter?

THE managing director of the Carter Engineering Co. Ltd., Tamworth, Mr. A. H. Carter, is to visit the USA to study car delivery methods over there. The visit has been arranged in co-operation with the Ford Motor Co. Ltd. and General Motors, of America.

Mr. Carter is to leave on April 26 and he will meet representatives of the Overland Anchor Lok Co. Ltd., of California. with the object of finalizing an agreement for the manufacture in England of airpressure braking equipment under licence The Carter company is to make available one of its factories for the manufacture of Anchor Lok equipment, details of which will be announced in due course.

More for the Old Folk: On Monday, HIM the Queen Mother opened the new nursing wing and flats at Lynwood, Sunningdale, Berks, provided by the Motor and Cycle Trades Benevolent Fund. The new buildings, together with the existing old people's home, will provide an estate for some 120 folk from the motor and cycle and allied industries, M retirement and chronic illness.

Rontemen for Australia: Scamrnell Lorries Ltd. has received orders from Australia for a total of 48 Routeman II chassis/cabs. The vehicles will be fitted with Leyland 0.600 engines and be delivered c.k.d., most of them being converted by Leyland Australia into 6 x 2 tractive units.

More AECs for Belgium: AEC Ltd. has received its largest single order from Belgium to date, calling for 84 lorries, 40 buses and coaches and eight of the newly introduced Dumptruk earthmovers, worth a total of £700,000.

ERF Chief Engineer on Tour: Mr. 'Ernest Sherratt, director and chief engineer of ERE Ltd., left the United Kingdom last week on a tour of companies in the USA which supply component parts to ERF. From the USA, Mr. Sherratt will fly on to Australia to start a technical sales tour of the country, visiting the depots of the ERF associate company, Booth ERE Ltd., of Lydcombe, NSW. The tour will includeSydney, Melbourne and Perth.
