A TYPE of triple-module Intereonsult • 1-1. bulk transporter new to the UK was used for the road vehicle section of a road/rail demonstration in London last week. This exercise involved the transfer of bulk cement under pressure between road and rail tanks, the demonstration being arranged by Algeco (UK) Ltd., 25 Victoria St., London, S.W.1.

The Interconsult unit used for the demonstrations was in fact a US-built steel tank mounted on Rubery Owen modern-axle running gear to form a frameless semi-trailer, but complete bulkers of this pattern are now to be built at the Slough. Bucks, works of Interconsult (London) Ltd. In the demonstration, 13 tons was transferred at about a ton a minute.

Like other recent bulkers of this make, the tanker is a development of the spherical vessels for which the company is well known; in this particular model the tank is a single-compartment one with aeration pads in each of the three base cones, but with a single rear discharge outlet. There are two filler apertures at the top of the tank. Multicompartment, multi-discharge • versions can be built to order.

In the form shown, the balker is an

850/870 cu. ft. non-tipping unit with a working pressure of 20 psi. and is designed for a maximum g.t.w. of 30 tons. However, similar containers can be constructed for use with articulated outfits grossing from 20 to 32 tons, or for use with rigid chassis.

This Intel-consult unit is intended for the carriage of powders or granulated or Continued overleaf 1315
