CARD IF F Corporation is building up a large fleet of oil-engined buses. On Friday last, the transport committee approved the conversion of 15 petrohengined buses to the use of oil fuel, a change which is expected to effect art economy of about £5,000 a year. The purchase of 10 new oilers was also sanctioned.
The conversion ot the 15 petrolengined vehicles will mean that 75 per cent, of the municipal bus mileage will
be covered by oilers. This changeover to oil engines may, in part, be responsible for the higher profit earned (luring the nine months ended December 31 last, the figure being £5,274, as compared with .£1,037 a year earlier.
