L-ORTY-ONE bodies have lodged ob
jections to far-reaching applications by Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., for the variation of licences in respect of a large number of routes.. The applications will be heard by the North-Western Traffic Commissioners at the Town Hall, Manchester, on Thursday next, January 61, at 10.30 a.m..
The modifications include provision for the daily issue of ordinary return tickets, which will he valid for use within three calendar months, the introduction of eight-day tourist tickets costing 15s. for adults and 7s. 6d. for children under 14 years of age, the inauguration of cheap dayreturn fares, and the revision of fares.
The objectors include Blackpool and District Motor Coach Owners Association, the Burnley, Blackburn and Man
chester branches of the Commercial Motor Users Association, Morecambe and District Motor Coach Owners Association, Southport Motor Coach Owners Association and the Yorkshire Stage Carriage Operators Association. Some of the organizations lodging objections represent various operators, so that, actually, the number of objectors may be considerably in excess of 41.
