WiE understand that the plan for a VY national agreement for municipaltransport workers is going forward. One meeting of a joint sub-committee of workers and municipal authorities has, so far, been held, and each side is examining the proposals put forward. It is hoped to hold another meeting in the neat future.
A reference to the proposed agreement was made in a statement issued after a meeting between a deputation of the Transport and General Workers Union and Birmingham Corporation's tramways and omnibus committee. The workers at Birmingham have aired several grievances. It was stated that no final decision could be reached locally in connection with spread-over duties, as national negotiations were taking place with a view to a general agreement..
