It was in a bus which is in regular service along Rosebery Avenue. The conductor naturally knew our face and aounted on our sympathy, " 'Struth," he said, as he handed change for a half-crown to a lady passenger, " I do believe it's early closing day and everybody has money to burn. I've changed three ten shilling notes and four half-crowns this afternoon : somebody'll come along with -heque in a minute."
