MR. E. POPPE has resigned his directorship of Douglas (Kingswood), Ltd.

MR. DICKSON GILMOUR, partner in Messrs. James G. Gilmour and Sons, of Perth, has been appointed Scottish chairman of the Road Haulage Association. For the past two years he has headed Perthshire Sub-area, and was— and still is—prominent in the fight against nationalization.

MR, W. SHELLEY was the guest of honour at an informal luncheon held last week to mark his retirement from the activities of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. He •waS for almost 13 years chairman of the accessory and comp...tient manufacturers' committee and serVed the S.M.M.T. for nearly 30 years. The presentation was made to him by MR. H. B. JAMESON, the present chairman of th'e accessory and component manufacturers committee.
