Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Dysons are now offering wide-track singleand tandem-axle air suspension running gears, utilizing the Dunlop Stabilair system, in completely unitized form for ease of mounting to tankers or vans.

The running gears are supplied as a complete unit with all the braking gear, including the hand-parking brake, mounted and piped up. Load-sensing is incorporated where specified and alternative sub-frames are available to tie up with varying designs of tank or body to achieve a correctly matched and integrated combination.

Some of the single-axle gears have been supplied to the Continental Oil company and have been fitted with 18-22.5, 18-ply low profile tyres and 1 64in. by 7in. cam brakes. Automatic brake slack-adjusters and rodoperated hand-parking brake are fitted. Fully equipped the running gear has a tare weight of only 21cwt.

Unitized tandem gear supplied to Esso Petroleum Ltd. has 18-19.5, 16-ply tyres and the air reservoirs are fitted with automatic moisture ejection valves and low pressure warning switches. The tare weight of this gear is 37cwt.

On both units the use of wide single tyres enables the spring centres to be increased, helping towards stability.

Similar units are available on twin tyres and the range also includes wide-spread tandem bogies, with or without self-tracking rear axles, with capacities up to 20 tons.
