• Pickfords removals has appointed William Burden as manager of its Bedford branch.
Twenty-nine-year-old Burden started his career in the removals industry when he joined GB Liners in 1979. He remained with the company for five years during which time he was assistant manager at its Bristol branch.
Burden joined Pickfords in January 1984 as assistant manager of its Bristol branch. In 1985 he took up his first branch managership position at Shrewsbury, a post which he held until his current appointment.
He is an associate of the Warehouse and Removers Institute.
