Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MY HEART went out to the officer in charge when I read that three Army learner-drivers in a convoy of seven had crashed their armoured personnel carriers with disastrous results.

I remembered fighting with a Royal Artillery learner driver/ wireless operator who missed a gear change and was careering out of control down 1 in 4 on hard-packed snow in a Canadian Ford three-former. Eventually I managed to wrest the steering wheel from him and, with minimal aid from the h brake, brought the lorry to a in a hedge before reachin cross road.

When we had recovered composure, the learner started and drove strai through the halt sign at crossing. I failed him and in red the deep displeasure of t battery commander, beca the War Office allowed us r two per cent failures on course and we had reached c limit. He solved the proble passing the menace himself.
