CARTRANSPORT Ltd has won all Toyota cars throughout the U The Leamington-based NFC company will be responsible for delivering 38,000 Toyota cars per year to a network of over 230 Toyota dealers. This will involve collecting vehicles from Sheerness docks, ferrying them to the Toyota distribution centre for inspection, then delivering them to dealers throughout the UK.
A new fleet of 30 Mercedes Benz tractive units has been bought to haul the transporters. Both units and transporters will be painted in Toyota's own red and white livery.

transporters, are powered by 12.76 litre V8 Mercedes diesel engines producing 256bhp at 2500rpm and are coupled to 12-speed synchromesh splitter gearboxes. The sleeper cabs have been lowered by six inches to fit under the transporters and are now no higher than the normal non-sleeper cabs.
The conversion work was carried out by Sparshatts of Sittingbourne, who supplied the vehicles and will also provide contract maintenance.
Cartransport declined to say how much the agreement was worth.
