Driver on trial

A STAFFORDSHIRE ownerdriver was committed for trial by Sheerness Magistrates last week after an incident outside Sheerness steel mill on February 14.

Stephen Gary Clark-Smith of Rugeley, Staffs, is charged both with wounding Francis Mullen with intent to cause him bodily harm and with assaulting Raymond Griffiths, thereby occasioning actual bodily harm.

Unconditional bail was again granted to Mr ClarkSmith and following a request. from his solicitor, Brian Alland, legal aid was extended.

The case will be heard at Maidstone Crown Court.
