• Truck winner Chris London Transport is calling for witnesses after the iveco Ford EuroTech he won in a Commercial Motor competition was seriously damaged by a hit-and-run driver.
A white Scania pulling a rusty 401t container turned across the white lveco EuroTech at 05:00hrs on 15 August while it was parked in the Ml's Crawley Crossing fuel-stop. it ripped off the driver-side steps, cracked the wing and put a deep scratch in the A-post. Driver Colin Derby, who was asleep, was shaken around the cab as the container ribs battered the cab. He discovered that the steps were missing when he fell
out of the cab. "We've only had the thing on the road six weeks," says London. Now he is calling on any drivers who saw the Scania and its container parked up when the Eurotech arrived at about 18:00hrs. "Somebody certainly knows," London says. "It must have done some damage to the mudguards." lveco Ford is helping London out with the loan of another truck. London: someone must know.
