Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

following the conviction of fowl Thomas, a partner in the business, for attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Thomas. who held a twovehicle/two-trailer licence in partnership with his wife Nia, was also disqualified from holding an Operator's Licence for two years by South Wales Deputy TC Alan Bourlet.

For the partners, Christopher Childs said the offence had arisen out of civil proceedings in connection with a claim for unpaid wages and the unfair dismissal of a driver who had caused damage to a vehicle.

Thomas had been sued for £700 and he had counterclaimed for damages. The allegation was that Thomas had forged documents and copied invoices for more than £500, while the originals were for parts totalling £1.87p. It was accepted that the conviction, which was being appealed, involved dishonesty in the alleged alteration of documents.

Childs reminded the Deputy TC there was a history between the parties. And revocation would mean the loss of the Thomas's livelihood.

Bourlet said he was left with very little room for manoeuvre in this case. But the Deputy IC added that should Thomas's appeal be successful he would he free to appeal against the revocation decision.
