Certain Arab countries, notably Syria and Saudi Arabia, will refuse entry to a driver holding a passport which bears evidence of a visit to Israel. A new passport which does not bear such marks should be obtained for a visit to Arab countries. As far as entry to Israel is concerned, the DoE says that it is most unlikely that entry to Israel by road from neighbouring countries would be allowed. Ferry services from Marseille, Genoa, Trieste, and Venice via Greek ports and Cyprus are suggested.
