• Following the recent merger between Daf and Leyland, Roger Phillips (right) — Dafs UK managing director — has been made managing director of the new Leyland Daf marketing and sales organisation. He takes over his new post at the beginning of April.
Phillips will be responsible for the sales and marketing of all Leyland Daf trucks, buses, parts and engines in the UK and he reports directly to Cor Baan, Daf Trucks' board director responsible for marketing and sales in Eindhoven.
Also drafted into the new Leyland Daf marketing and sales team are Peter Cutmore, who becomes service director, Cliff Grant as administration director, Brian Smith as parts director, Chris Thorneycroft-Smith as marketing director and Robin Woolcock who becomes director of sales operations. In addition to these senior posts, Ian Jones has been made truck sales director reporting to Robin Woolcock, while John Ruane is executive parts consultant.
