Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

container and tanker lorries were demanded by the European Parliament in a resolution voted last week in Strasbourg.

Euro MPs are claiming that existing rules banning the dual use of vehicles for carrying certain products — such as meat, wine and milk — along with other non-food goods are inadequate.

They are complaining that, despite genuine concern by operators, contamination can occur because of unclean vehicles or unsuitable materials used in their construction.

The resolution, however, calls on the Brussels Commission to continue to permit dual use of vehicles when compatible products are involved.

"If vehicles can't be put to different uses consumers will have to pay more", the resolution accepts. Brussels, however, has been asked to draw up an EEC list of incompatible products which should never be carried by the same vehicle.
