Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

21, 1987 (page 4) headed "Radical Plans for Overnight Stops" has surely missed the most obvious point.

Transport cafes on main trunk roads have for many years provided adequate facilities for rest, refreshment, fuel or even message taking.

These cafes, however, are quickly disappearing and are being replaced by the "Little Chef' type restaurants whose main intentions are to exclude goods vehicles and put up prices.

Surely this is a serious breach of planning permission . whereby the old cafes were providing a service for corn mercial vehicles and a change of use to cars only has gone unnoticed.

It is not uncommon for HGV drivers to now leave main trunk roads in search of a village or town centre cafe.

Perhaps the RHA and F1'A should again speak to Peter Bottomley because at the moment they can't see wood for trees . . . or cafes for cafes.
