• Action is being taken against the drivers and operators of vehicles found to be speeding in the North Eastern Traffic Area it was revealed this week.
Vehicle speeds are now being monitored in silent checks throughout the traffic area, and where a driver is discovered to be speeding, a letter is sent to the operator pointing out its responsibilities and warning that it would affect their enforcement record.
Action is also being taken against those drivers found to be persistently breaking the speed limits and a number of HGV driving licences have already been revoked.
