• Coventry-based Sheertrucks has acquired four new Volvo FL10 prime movers under a contract hire agreement with BRS Midlands.
Sheertrucks has been building up its car transporter business with transport backing from the local Coventry branch of British Road Services. Initially the contract was for regular servicing of Sheertrucks vehicles under a contract maintenance arrangement.
Under the new agreement, however, the 34-tonne G VW vehicles will be used with Hoynor car transporter trailers, supplied by Redolent Engineering of Braintree, to move Jaguar cars from the firm's plant to the docks and UK distributors. BRS will also provide regular servicing and maintenance under the terms of the contract.
