Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

of petrol injection. Who are the leading makers of petrol-injection equipment and what are the prospects of its being applied to commercial vehicles? Has the system disadvantages that have precluded its use to date?

A Leading makers of petrol-injection equip" ment in this country include Petrol Injection Ltd., Valley Road, Plympton. Plymouth (a member of the Tecalemit Group), Joseph Lucas Ltd., Great King Street, Birmingham 19 and Brico-Engineering Ltd., Holbrook Lane, Coventry (an Associated Engineering Group company), the equipment produced by the last-named company being of the electronic type which was announced in September 1966.

Although the systems offer a substantial reduction in fuel consumption, that would particularly appeal to the operators of petrolengined light vans, manufacturers have so far concentrated on supplying systems to car owners to increase the power output available and it is pertinent that success in this market would enable production to be greatly increased and the cost to be reduced. Apart from the extra cost and the fact that few mechanics are familiar with the system, there should be no disadvantage in employing the system. Some types of engine are, however, more readily adaptable than others.
