containers, incorporating Salwall lining which extends to the full length and height on both sides and the front ends of the units, have just been built by The Duramin Engineering Co., Ltd., Harbour Road, Lydney, Gloucestershire, for MAT Transport Ltd. Designed by Duramin, the containers are constructed to comply with ISO/BSI regulations and are TIR/UICapproved.

The Salwall cargo control system allows loads of all shapes and sizes to be anchored at any point along the container walls, regardless of position or height from the container floor. Adjustments are made by means of dunnage bars with special end clips which fit securely into the walls at fin. centres. The system can also be used to carry decking and/or bulkheads.

A further advantage is that the use of the inherently rigid Salwall lining obviates the need for side pillars.

Containers supplied to MAT Transport have a gross rating of 25 tons and a tare weight of only 3 tons 2 cwt., allowing for a distributed floor load of up to 21 tons 18 cwt.

Exterior panelling is in 16-gauge horizontally-swaged aluminium alloy. In addition to full-height full-width double doors at the rear end, the containers also incorporate 8ft wide full-height Salwall-lined doors fitted centrally on one side wall.
