AGeneral trade plates cannot be used on
vehicles carrying goods for hire or reward. In this connection "carrying" includes "hauling" or towing caravans or trailers for hire or reward.
General trade plates are intended for use by vehicle manufacturers, dealers, repairers, etc., or when a company has a large workshop of its own. But even in this latter case vehicles operated on general trade plates cannot be used in connection with whatever is the main line of business.
