Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

p.s.v. driving licence. I already hold a British Forces (German) p.s.v. licence and would be glad of information as to how I go about getting a UK licence.

A Your German licence would not be valid

in this country and under normal circumstances the only way to obtain a p.s.v, driving licence would be to join a bus or coach firm and, through it, take a p.s.v. driving test.

You can apply to the offices of the Traffic Commissioners of the area in which you ultimately intend to reside in the UK, but you would have to provide the necessary vehicle yourself. Some bus companies will take on men only as conductors initially irrespective of whether they can drive a car or not.

London Transport is running a recruiting campaign for drivers and the only requirement is that you hold an ordinary car driving licence, though it would expect to employ as a driver any recruit passing the test.
